Alien Body is a new collaboration between three generations of San Francisco-based performance artists, looking at the body as a territory in a foreign setting, a vulnerable entity in a hostile, unpredictable or inhospitable space. The aging body in a youth-centered space; the body as a victim of a toxic environment; "the ethnic body".

America, how do I love thee?
Let me count the ways.

I love thee to the breadth and depth my car can reach
driving your long, straight highways
from the Sonoran Desert to the Berkshire Mountains...

... I love your homegrown satire.
Writers, television stars, actors and musicians
who lovingly skewer you, reminding you
not to take yourself too seriously.

America, what happened to your sense of humor?

What happened to lazy Sunday mornings,
lying in bed until noon watching Bugs Bunny?
Now your Sundays are full up with Mega Churches and God Marts,
watching 700 Club in bed.
America, you're leaving crumbs of the Host in our bed!

America, I can't have people over anymore...
America, do you really need to do a body cavity search
each time we have a dinner party?

America, you've been sneaking around and I know what you're up to.
I know you're tapping the neighbors' phones.

I know about Cuba.
I know about Cuba, and to think of it...
I don't know who you are anymore.

You are not the country I love.

America, who are you?
